Your Daily Siddhartha (Days 7 and 8)

Here are the next two installments of Your Daily Siddhartha, the daily video diary that our friend Adam made while Jenn and I were on a vacation in Europe back in April of 2010 (For more backstory, please check out the post for Days 1 and 2).

These two videos show Adam growing as a [dog] director – though you must realize he is working with the premier talent of the [dog] acting world. Special cameo appearance by Elly and Edna, Sid’s friends/roomates from Glendale, on Day 8.

Day 7: You learn quickly not to leave your laptop unattended when Sid’s around.

Day 8: You never know who will stop by on YourDailySiddhartha!

Peanut Mode

Sid in Peanut Mode

Sid has many different “modes” that he gets into throughout the day. Usually the mode involves some sort of body positioning, movement, or a certain noise he emits. The mode he is demonstrating here is “Peanut Mode“. We’ll often find him sleeping or resting with his face almost flat against the ground (easy for him to do due to being snout-less). Why he does this, we have no idea, but he usually is very relaxed in this state.

Hopefully we’ll catch some photos of him in different modes…including the rarely-seen but equally-as-cute “Wombat Mode“.

Snow-Plowing Pug

The snow that had been dumped on us from the post-Christmas blizzard was starting to look pretty nasty, so last week, when we were lucky enough to get a nice cover of fresh snow, we decided it would be a good time to take Sid out and start him on a new vocation – snow plowing.

Sid stands proudly in Prospect Park

The blizzard a week earlier was so bad that it took 4 days for our street to be plowed – we required a backup plan. This being Sid’s first winter with snow, we took the little guy to the park to gave him an opportunity to hone his skill.

Your Daily Siddhartha (Days 5 and 6)

Here are the next two installments of Your Daily Siddhartha, the daily video diary that our friend Adam made while Jenn and I were on a vacation in Europe back in April of 2010 (For more backstory, please check out the post for Days 1 and 2). FYI, Adam is also the genius that came up with the caption for each video.

Day 5: Sid respects your personal space while you are in the bathroom.

Day 6: Sid celebrates a dump with his version of the Running Man.

The Return of the Ela-bed

After a month of waking up to Sid sleeping on my back, in my bed, where he definitely does not belong, I finally had enough.  But, Sid, ever the fighter, refused to sleep in his own bed, on the floor.

It was then that Brian and I knew that it was time to reconstruct one of the most important inventions ever created by man, the pinnacle of humankind’s collective intelligence and creativity, and, therefore, certainly the best idea Brian and I have ever, and will ever, come up with:

The Ela-bed.

Yes, it was just over a year ago, back when we were still taking care of Sid and two other dogs at our old house in Glendale, California, that Brian and I combined a Rubbermaid bin and a dog bed to create the amazing elevated dog bed, which we coined “the Ela-bed.”

Who Stole My Snuggie?

This recent spell of cold weather in Pug Slope has kept us from taking any new exciting photos of everyone’s favorite little turkey. Gone are the long afternoons of meandering through Prospect Park. On Sid’s walks he now stays strictly to the “business” at hand (can I get a rimshot?). He’s very content to curl up indoors and since his Snuggie apparently wasn’t cutting it, he decided to commandeer Jenn’s.

Yes, he did take over the whole darn thing.

He’s also taken to popping up into our bed in the middle of the night – although we can’t complain. Since the radiators in the apartment churn out too much heat (and the one in the bedroom is about 6 inches from my head) we often turn off the one in the bedroom at night. So when it does get a little chilly, what folks commonly refer to as a “One Dog Night”, Sid fits the role perfectly.

Your Daily Siddhartha (Days 3 and 4)

Here are the next two Your Daily Siddhartha videos that our friend Adam made while Jenn and I were on a vacation in Europe (For more backstory, please check out the post for Days 1 and 2). The 4th is one of my personal favorites!

Day 3: Getting pet just isn’t as thrilling as it used to be.

Day 4: A day full of eating and sleeping has left Sid all tuckered out. Bless him.
