The Pillow Thief

Last week, Jenn got a new body pillow and the plan was to give her old pillow to Sid. He had always liked the fluffy, over-sized pillow which apparently was the perfect material for nesting / thrashing around on. We indulge him occasionally, but since he has many of his own beds/cushions, we try to keep our own pillows off-limits.

Well, as you might have guessed, as soon as the new pillow arrived, Sid decided it was his. He zipped up on the bed faster than we could blink and planted on it.

As most of you know, pugs are quite immovable once they decide to plant, so we had to break out the big guns (i.e. apples and peanut butter in the kong) in order to get him to budge.

All ended well, though, and he actually prefers the old pillow as it smells like his mom.

Missing the Point

Um, Sid…I think you’re supposed to, uh, sleep inside the bed.

91 Degrees

It’s just too hot to be outside today – especially if you’re a pug. We’re trying to stay inside as much as possible today. Sid has set up camp in front of the A/C.

Sid’s Favorite Spot

Even though Sid has two beds of his own (we humans only have one), neither of them is his favorite spot. Instead he always seeks out the stray sweatshirt, or pair of pants left on the floor and plops down right on top. Or, in this case, he finds the pile of dirty clothes on the bed and immerses himself inside.

I think he’d prefer if we chucked out his actual beds and let him sleep in the hamper.

OK, Is That Really Comfortable?

Sid has a way of getting himself into very odd positions that to him are the pinnacle of comfort. Even since we’ve known him (a little over 2 years at this point) he has never liked to be on his back. He would always squirm around and right himself immediately. But now, for reasons unknown, it’s his favorite position. As soon as he is supine, he gets very calm, flops his head back, and starts snoring away. It’s very similar to the zen state he gets into during bath time.

What is your dog’s most comfortable postion?

Contented

After all the excitement of going to the off-leash hours in the park every morning this week, Sid needed some time just to chill out and relax with his mom. He sure is an expert on how to get comfortable.
