Cashew Nut
I’m not sure if it was in response to Sid’s last post, but the weather certainly seems to have fixed itself this week. It’s been nice and cool – perfect weather for the flat-faced. We’ve been able to get over to the park every day. While this means the flow of Sid’s “pity toys” has stopped, I think he’s genuinely excited to go to the park. In fact, whenever we leave the apartment now, he only lets me turn in one direction – TOWARD THE PARK.
We’ve been meeting a bunch of new friends there – both the four-legged and two-legged variety. Sid’s even reached out of his comfort zone and has been interacting with non-pugs – including a “Tree Walking Coonhound”. Yeah, I know it sounds like I just made that up but it really is an actual dog breed!
Hopefully this weekend we’ll get a chance to take some photos of Sid hanging out with some of his pals. That is of course if he ever decides to get out of bed.

Boring Week = Exciting Weekend
So my dad and I haven’t written any posts this week (other than Monday) because it’s been pretty boring over here at Pug Slope Headquarters.
I mean, we’ve just been doing our normal mundane routine – y’know walks a couple times a day, breakfast, stuffed Wigzi balls for a lunchtime snack, dinner, midnight snack if I’m so lucky, and plently of sleeping and napping.
Turns out that laying low this week was actually a good thing, though, cuz now I am totally prepared for AN EXCITING WEEKEND!
My dad hasn’t told me the whole story but he mentioned that some guests (yes, there’s an “s” on the end of that) will be crashing with us at Pug Slope HQ. And we’re not only talking human guests but also GUESTS OF THE PUG KIND. And yes, there’s an “S” on the end of that one, too!
OMP I can’t wait. It’s too bad my dad did all that cleaning last weekend, I was hoping to show off my cool “peanut-butter print” bed that I’d worked so hard on the past few months. Oh well.
So, guys, who do you think the guests could be?!
I Protest
I hope you guys remembered to turn your clocks forward yesterday!
Sid was rather perturbed when he discovered that one whole hour of his precious naptime had been whisked away right under his nose.
I tried to negotiate with him and offered him a few BC’s (Baby Carrots) to make up for the lost hour but he said that my offer was unacceptable (he did still eat the carrots though).
He told me that he’s going to protest this stolen hour by sleeping the ENTIRE day today – aside from the standard meal and poop breaks. I’m not sure how this differs from his normal daily activities, but I told him I’d support him in his cause.
Care to join Sid in protest by sleeping all day?
These Four Walls
It’s been so cold here that all attempts of taking photos of Sid outside have been thwarted. The mere thought of exposing my un-gloved hand to the elements, even for a few seconds, sends shivers down my spine. The sun may be shining brightly but don’t let it fool you – this is still the dead of Winter.
Keep Me Warm O Cape of Mine
Sid and I have been spending a lot of time indoors – which for him means sleeping in various beds and for me means puttering. I wish I could take a lesson from Sid and relax more, but I feel that if I’m going to be stuck inside, it is the perfect time to take on a PROJECT. Time to scan all those old photos, weed through the closet and get rid of the old clothes, alphabetize the books, etc.
My problem is not with the coming-up-with-the-project bit – I excel at that – but rather with the staying-focused-on-one-project-until-it-is-finished bit. Sid on the other hand is a real champ when it comes to follow through. When given a Wigzi stuffed with treats and peanut butter, nothing gets in his way until he’s finished (not even a mid-day FEDEX delivery from Mr. Chewy!). The boy can really FOCUS.
